Randy S. Hughes, Pastor

 

Randy graduated from Lock Haven University in May 2005 and graduated in May 2009  from Evangelical Theological Seminary in Myerstown.  His passion in ministry is to empower and equip the saints of God to transform the world.  His hobbies include: hiking and biking.

 
 
 

Rebekah Horst Ganley, Worship Leader

A graduate of Grove City College (2003) and an experienced musician, Rebekah joined the staff of Christ UMC in 2003 to provide leadership for the 11:00 am contemporary worship service which was launched in April 2004. Rebekah has completed the doctoral program at Loyola University in Baltimore and is now a licensed psychologist.



Kathy Bortner, Administrative Assistant

Kathy has been a constant presence in the church office for over 30 years. She is responsible for all church communications including the monthly Newsletter and the weekly worship bulletin. She also serves the church in the roles of  Financial Secretary and Membership Secretary. She is a valued employee and a dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ.

 

Donna "Janie" Snyder, Church Organist

Janie has been providing accompaniment for worship at Christ UMC for 35 years. Over the years since 1965 she has held  various positions having served as choir director for the adult choir, youth choir, junior choir and cherub choir.  Presently she serves as organist/pianist for the Traditional Service and accompanies the choirs.  Her love for music is evident in all that she does.  She has been a member of the York Symphony Chorus for 41 years and the York Symphony Chamber Singers since its beginning in 1982.  A graduate of Millersville University and a retired educator, Janie provides Christ UMC with valuable leadership on both sides of the keyboard.

 

 

Linda Wright, Choirchimes and Junior/Youth Choir Director

Linda has been providing musical instruction for children in choirs since 1985 and choirchimes and handbells for children and adults since 1990. Each year the Junior/Youth Choir presents a Christian musical at the annual "Dessert Theater" under her direction. Linda volunteers at the elementary United Methodist Music Camp held at Camp Greene Hills in Barree, PA and is a flutist in the Emigsville Band. She is a graduate of Shippensburg University and a retired elementary teacher.

  

Gail Platts, Church Custodian

Gail's contributions to the church often go unnoticed but are some of the most important to the life of the church. Gail keeps the facilities at Christ UMC shining brightly for its many and varied activities. She has been providing cleaning services for the congregation for nearly 19 years and is always at work behind the scenes keeping things neat and tidy. Her dedication to the facilities is greatly appreciated.

 

 

Tracie Hughes, Youth Ministry Director

Tracie joined the staff of Christ UMC September 1, 2009 and brings considerable experience in youth and family ministry. She has been a Youth Fellowship leader for over 10 years and has taught the Jr. High Sunday school class during the last 1.5 years. She also co-leads our C.L.O.W.N. ministry for children on Wednesday evening with Jeremy and Whitney Wagner.

 

Whitney Wagner, Nursery Ministry Coordinator

Whitney is responsible for coordinating and assuring tender loving care and Christian nurture for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers through Kindergartners during all church activities. She assures that appropriate volunteers are present to provide that care during church activities as required by the church’s Safe Sanctuaries Policy. Whitney also sees that all nursery furniture is clean and safe.

 

 

Susan Schrack Wood, choir director

Susan has been our choir director since 2007.  She has studied music at Syracuse University, and studied organ under Will Headley.   In her childhood, she was a member of the Saint Cecilia Women and Girls choir at Saint Stephen's Episcopal Cathedral in Harrisburg.  Currently, she holds degrees from Syracuse University and Mississippi State University in journalism and meteorology.  When not directing the choir, she works in television news and weather in Baltimore.
